Leaders from College of Management Visited Three Terminal Companies to Conduct Research and Exchange

  In order to deepen the communication and cooperation between our university and enterprises, on the morning of February 22, Tang Chen, Dean of College of Management, and Huang Yanhua, Secretary of the Party Branch, and teachers from the Logistics Management Teaching and Research Office went to Beibu Gulf Group Fangchenggang Terminal Co., Ltd. and Shenggang Terminal Co., Ltd. in Qinzhou Bonded Port Area of Guangxi to conduct on-site research work, sign the cooperation agreement and visit the interns of our university.

  The leaders and teachers of College of Management were warmly received by Su Yuanhui, Party Secretary and General Manager of Beibu Gulf Group Fangcheng Port Terminal Co., Ltd., Li Junhuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and other leaders. The two parties visited key facilities such as the port's production general dispatch center and loading and unloading operation center. The teachers and students of our university experienced the advanced level of management informatization and intelligence of Fangcheng Port Terminal. They also observed the operation of the "400" and "401" berths and the cultural corridor of the company's development history. After the visit, the two parties held a research meeting and signed a framework agreement. Both parties had in-depth exchanges on the new development trends and situations currently facing vocational education, as well as the prospects for in-depth integration and cooperation between schools and enterprises.

  At the seminar, Dean Tang Chen gave an overview of our university’s philosophy, professional development, employment achievements and other landmark achievements, and elaborated on the specific situation of College of Management in the construction of the Logistics Management Major and talent cultivation. The person in charge of Beibu Gulf Group Fangchenggang Terminal Co., Ltd. made an in-depth introduction on the company’s positioning, planning and future development. The two parties reached an intention to establish close cooperation, especially in technological innovation and talent training, in order to promote the deep integration of industry, education and research.

  In the afternoon, the research team of College of Management arrived at Shengang Terminal Co., Ltd. in Qinzhou Bonded Port Zone of Guangxi to conduct research activities. The company’s deputy general manager Zhao Lingmin and HR manager Huang Wenli received the team personally. During the research, HR manager Huang Wenli led the team to visit the Qinzhou Port Exhibition Center to understand the progress of informationization and intelligence of the port operation in management and operation. The team also watched the intelligent operation process of containers at the terminal.


Seminar Conducted by Both Parties
 

  After the visit, personnel from both sides held a seminar together. During the seminar, the two parties discussed and exchanged views on the connection between supply and demand of graduates, joint training of talents, scientific research cooperation and cadre training through exchange visits.

  Dean Tang Chen emphasized that in recent years, Guangxi City Vocational University has been committed to promoting local economic and social progress, and has achieved remarkable results by integrating scientific research, achievement implementation and talent development. Leveraging its cooperation with Guangxi Qinzhou Bonded Port Zone Shenggang Terminal Co., Ltd., our university is moving towards utilizing its own talent resources, strengthening exchanges and collaboration, promoting the transformation of scientific research results and cultivating talents, aiming to promote mutual growth through pragmatic partnership.

      During this research, Dean Tang Chen and Secretary Huang Yanhua, on behalf of our University, cordially expressed condolences to the outstanding interns working in Beibu Gulf Group Fangchenggang Terminal Co., Ltd., including the outstanding graduate Zhang Jiafeng. They meticulously inquired about the interns’ work performance in the company, their living conditions and their future career development plans.

      During this trip, teachers from the Logistics Teaching and Research Office had an in-depth understanding of the latest development of enterprises, which provided practical cases for future teaching activities and enriched the content of teaching materials. Through in-depth communication with enterprises, the teachers also grasped the specific needs of enterprises for talents, laying a solid foundation for the College to develop more targeted teaching strategies.
