Successful Conclusion of the 2023-2024 Academic Year Teaching Competition at Our University

  To further enhance the teaching abilities and instructional standards of young faculty members, and harness the exemplary leadership of outstanding educators, our university successfully hosted the finals of the 2023-2024 academic year teaching competition on March 1st at the Chongzuo campus concert hall. Professor Huang Yong from the Planning and Construction Office, Professor Zheng Shizhen from the Collegeof Management, Professor Ye Ping from the International College, Professor Li Weiye from the Collegeof Architecture and Engineering, Professor Jing Yanli from the Collegeof Business, Professor Li Qiuchin from the Collegeof Automotive Engineering, and Professor Zhou Ke from the Collegeof Intelligent Engineering served as judges for the competition. Heads of various functional departments and key faculty members were present to observe and learn.

  Observing Judges and Teachers During the Competition

  The competition comprised four disciplines: Public, Science and Engineering, Arts Education, and Humanities. Twelve teachers advanced to the finals, with each participant delivering a 20-minute classroom teaching session followed by a 3–5-minute reflection. The judging panel objectively assessed participants based on the design of their teaching plans, classroom performance, and instructional reflections.

  Throughout the competition, the twelve participants demonstrated fluent and organized language skills. They tailored their teaching methods according to the characteristics and objectives of their courses, showcasing a profound understanding of the subjects and solid teaching fundamentals, earning rounds of applause from the attending faculty.

  Ultimately, with their high-quality teaching, rigorous instructional strategies, and innovative lesson designs, teachers Jiang Haiyun, Xu Xianlong, Wu Qijia, and Luo Shengwei won first prizes in the Public, Science and Engineering, Humanities, and Arts Education categories, respectively.

  In the evaluation segment, judges provided feedback on teaching objectives, key teaching points, instructional processes, and methods. They acknowledged the outstanding performances of the teachers while offering constructive suggestions for improvement. In his concluding remarks, President Li Zhonghua stated, "Learning is an endless process, and expertise is honed through diligence." He praised the diverse teaching methods and remarkable instructional outcomes demonstrated by the participating teachers, showcasing our university's professional competence and teaching style, injecting vitality into vocational education practice. President Li encouraged all teachers to use this competition as an opportunity to strengthen teaching research, optimize instructional methods, enhance teaching effectiveness, adhere to student-centered teaching philosophies, and focus on comprehensive student development, contributing to high-quality education and the development of the education sector.

  A hundred years' plan is based on education; a big education plan is based on teachers.This teaching competition, as a crucial initiative in education, facilitated the exchange and sharing of teaching experiences and methods among faculty members.
